Faculty

ITS provides all faculty technical services that help with both administration and instruction. Faculty members are all assigned a user name (also known as a CWID) to access services like email and other online applications. Additionally, the SMARTDesk can assist with setting up laptops and mobile devices to access WCM resources, such as email and campus Wi-Fi, and secure your device to meet our security standards. The Technology in Learning and Teaching (TiLT) website can also provide some great tips and suggestions regarding instructional design.

New Faculty

If you are a new faculty member, please make sure you create a new password on the myPassword website, and visit the SMARTDesk for any technical assistance you may need connecting your laptop or mobile device to our services (discounted hardware and software are available if you are looking for a new personal device). You can also update your WCM profile in our Online Directory and biography in our VIVO database.

Voluntary Faculty

Weill Cornell Medicine's voluntary faculty members are eligible to receive various IT services to assist them in their work at the college. Your WCM email and calendar account is accessible via Webmail only. However, you can also set up your mobile device to access your WCM email at no charge by visiting the SMARTDesk (this does not include access to our WCM Secure network). Also, check our recommended devices page to ensure you are using ITS-recommended hardware that is compatible with our services.

We offer remote access to various WCM resources, like library journals and the college intranet, via WebVPN. Voluntary faculty can also gain read-only access to EpicCare, which is used by Physician Organization providers to document patient care activities (access contingent upon completion of the required training courses).

Once you receive your CWID and password, please visit the SMARTDesk to register for voluntary faculty services. Please bring your Weill Cornell-issued ID card with you to the SMARTDesk.
