Benefits of the 2019 WBG Upgrade
Access WBG with the internet + Duo. The 2019 WBG upgrade includes a move to a cloud-based platform, which will help us better adapt to future technology changes. One major benefit of this move to the cloud is that after the upgrade you’ll be able to access WBG with the internet + Duo. Today, you need myApps (Citrix) or a VPN connection to access the Weill Business Gateway from outside the WCM network. After the upgrade, you’ll be able to sign in to the Weill Business Gateway (https://wbg.weill.cornell.edu) using the internet + Duo multi-factor authentication if you’re off-campus. This simplified login experience retains the same high level of security required for sensitive business processes.
- If you’re not already enrolled in Duo, sign up today at duo.weill.cornell.edu.
- Note: Mac users who need to access Analysis for Excel BI Reports will still need to use MyApps
After the upgrade: Changes and Known Issues
WBG Dashboard Customization: When the upgrade is complete, your WBG Dashboard will no longer have any of the customized tiles and groups you may have created, including BI Reports. You will need to re-create these customizations after the upgrade.
If you need to reference your pre-upgrade WBG Dashboard to view your previous tiles, groups, and BI Reports, the old system will be available for one month via myApps. (To access the old WBG, login to myapps.weill.cornell.edu and click the icon Old Weill Business Gateway.)

Pop-up blocker: When you access https://wbg.weill.cornell.edu you may see a message saying that your pop-blocker has been activated. You need to either (1) turn off the pop-up blocker or (2) add the site URL to your browser’s allow list.
Accessing Analysis for Excel reports:
- PC users: To execute Analysis for Excel Reports without myApps you should install the Analysis for Excel client using IBM BigFix. For instructions view this KB Article: How to download software from BigFix in Windows
- To access Analysis for Excel outside the WCMC network, you need to use VPN (Cisco AnyConnect).
- Mac users: Continue to use myApps to execute Analysis for Excel reports
