Fee waived for smartphone tagging, support & secure Wi-Fi

Starting on January 3, 2017, if you are a WCM employee, when you get your phone tagged by ITS, you will enjoy the added benefits of:
 

  • ITS Support at no additional cost (Previously a $150 setup fee + $285 annual fee)
  • Access to secure Wi-Fi network
  • Secure email/calendar access to your WCM account
  • WCM Emergency App: get real-time updates in case of a WCM emergency
  • WCM Apps: download apps you need at WCM, like Skype for Business, Lynda.com and more (previously known as Apps@Work)
  • MobileIron: if your phone is ever lost or stolen, MobileIron lets ITS wipe it remotely

 
How do I get my phone tagged?

First, you must make a request, and then visit one of our SMARTDesk locations or request that a technician come visit you.
1.   Visit myHelpdesk and click Submit a Request, then click Employee Smartphone Service Request Form. Fill out the form and submit.
2.   You’ll receive a confirmation message with a link that will take you to a booking page where you can schedule the time and date of your SMARTDesk appointment. If you are off-campus, you can request a technician visit.

What if I already have an ITS-tagged smartphone?

  • If you are an employee and currently have a tagged smartphone with access to email and guest Wi-Fi, you have automatically received the aforementioned benefits. Go to Settings -> Wi-Fi to check which network you are connected to.
  • If you are an employee and currently have a tagged smartphone with access to secure Wi-Fi, you don’t have to do anything. Your department will no longer be billed, effective in January.

What if I am not an employee?

Students enrolled in degree programs: Students enrolled in a degree program can tag their smartphone and get the support benefits described above as of January 3, 2017 under the existing student device connection service at no additional cost. If you are a student and your phone is already tagged, you’ll automatically receive the aforementioned benefits.
 
Non-employee, non-degree students: If you would like to tag your phone and receive ITS support, please ask your department administrator to submit a smartphone connect form on your behalf. For more information on mobile device support and fees, visit our Rates page under "Standard Devices."
