Turnitin is an Internet-based plagiarism-prevention service which checks documents for unoriginal content. Results can be used to identify similarities to existing sources or can be used in formative assessment to help students learn how to avoid plagiarism and improve their writing.

Faculty who are interested in using Turnitin within a Canvas course should refer to the Creating a Turnitin LTI Assignment in Canvas guide. For more info refer to the Turnitin page at Cornell University's Center for Teaching Innovation.

Cost and Fees

Turnitin is available at no additional cost to faculty.

Service Requirements

Request access to Turnitin by submitting a General Request via myHelpdesk to ETG (Educational Technologies). Turnitin may be used with or without Canvas LMS.
