The Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes is a series of 16 databases that contain functional annotations of genes and genomes, including reactions, disease and drug interactions, and gene pathways. The data are available from the website http://www.kegg.jp/, and are now also available for download through FTP:
ftp.bioinformatics.jp
Access is freely available when accessed on the WCM network. The FTP data are updated weekly.
Look out in the fall for demonstrations on how to leverage the KEGG data in your bioinformatics research.
