ITS adheres to standards that prohibit access by unauthorized personnel in our data center facilities. All staff with access to the Data Center must follow policies and procedures relating to security.
For more information on data center access, please contact our Network Operations Center at its-operations@med.cornell.edu.
Access Requirements
- Access request must be submitted to the Network Operations Center (NOC) Duty Manager by the supervisor of the person requiring access (its-operations@med.cornell.edu).
- Request turnaround time is 24 hours. Emergencies must be addressed with the Associate Director of Operations.
- Any change in access needs shall be communicated to the NOC Duty Manager as soon as the change becomes known.
- Access will be reviewed by the NOC Duty Manager using scheduled review/expiration date and/or any incident reports associated with the security ID/account.
- Access to the data center must be renewed prior to access expiration date; renewal must be initiated by the supervisor of the person seeking access. Access will be terminated on the scheduled termination date unless renewal is initiated as outlined.
- Persons seeking access to the data center must sign a non-disclosure agreement.
- For unauthorized personnel without access to the data center, every visit requires documentation in our ticketing system, ServiceNow; the ticket shall record the purpose for the visit, location to be visited within the data center, and the type of work to be performed.
- Authorized visitors, whether escorted or unescorted, must sign Data Center Activity Log. If the visitor is provided temporary access, the ServiceNow ticket number associated with the access request must be documented on the sign-in form.
