Apple has announced and released its latest mobile devices, operating systems, and a security advisory for keyboard applications:
Devices:
- iPhone 11
- iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max
Operating System:
- iOS 13.1.1
- iPadOS 13.1.1
Application compatibility
ITS has been rigorously testing the new version of iOS and iPadOS to ensure their compatibility with applications that are supported through WCM Apps. Currently, there are no known compatibility issues with apps when upgrading devices to iOS 13.1.1 or iPadOS 13.1.1.
Tested apps
- Clinical Apps: Haiku & Canto
- Productivity/Security Apps: Microsoft apps (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Duo, LastPass, Box
For personal applications that are installed on your devices, we recommend checking the application release notes to ensure compatibility with the new operating system.
Security Advisory
Third-party keyboard applications installed on devices with 13 or 13.1 operating systems may allow “full access” to your devices. This allows third-party developers to access, collect, and transmit the data you type using these keyboards.
- If you have already updated to iOS 13.1 or iPadOS 13.1, please update to the recently released iOS 13.1.1 or iPadOS 13.1.1 which fixes this issue.
Before you upgrade
Make sure you back up your device before starting any upgrade. Read Apple’s instructions on how to back up your mobile device.
