Notice on upcoming Library renovations

The Weill Cornell Medical Library is undergoing substantial renovation. On Tuesday, July 8, 2014, the Library will be temporarily closed to accommodate an internal relocation for the renovation. From July 9 to September 1, the front room of the Weill Cornell Medical Library will be closed and patrons must access the Library using the "Night Entrance" to the 24/7 space, located in the LC corridor, past the Griffis Faculty Club, near the LC elevators, during this time.

Additionally, the Library stacks will be unavailable for patron use, although we will pull items from the shelves for you to use if you need them.

We intend to provide all services by setting up temporary desks both inside and outside the Library. Please expect some additional noise and less workspace during this time. Ten noise cancellation headphones will be available for checkout.

After the renovation is completed we will be able to offer you:

• a redesigned and newly furnished Library Commons


• a single service desk where your technology, reference, and access questions can be answered


• a swipe-through security gate system


• a permanent installation of The Cornell Store

In addition to public space renovations, there will be renovations of staff workspace to accommodate more people and improve efficiency.

We assure you we are working to make this transition as easy as possible for you. We will inform you of any unexpected service interruptions by posting announcements on our website and in the Library.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during what will be a hectic time for all of us. Please have your ID card with you when you come to the Library to verify your access privileges.
