Zoom “Call Me” feature to be disabled on June 20th

Zoom meetings at WCM currently have a “Call Me” feature which allows a meeting attendee to receive a phone call from Zoom when joining a meeting. As of June 20th, the “Call Me” feature will be disabled for WCM Zoom meetings.

Use of this feature has spiked in recent months, along with the overall spike in Zoom usage. While the feature is convenient, we are unfortunately incurring tens of thousands of dollars in excess costs which are hard to justify at this time.

How should I connect to Zoom meeting audio?

The easiest and fastest way to join meetings is connecting to “Computer Audio” using the Zoom client. This leverages your internet connection to connect you to high quality meeting audio and video. Quality may vary based on your internet speed.

Alternately, you can still connect to meetings with an outbound phone call. Connect to the meeting in the Zoom client and select “Phone Call” as your audio type to see a list of numbers you can dial, the meeting ID, and your participant ID. Make sure to use your participant ID when dialing so Zoom properly identifies you to other meeting participants.

Note: Zoom meeting hosts can limit audio connection options per meeting, such as removing phone connectivity. For best results, always connect to the meeting through the Zoom client.
