Effective Tuesday, September 22, all patrons of the Samuel J. Wood Library will need to use their ID or library-issued access card to enter and exit the library's new gates during regular operating hours.
Please note the following changes to our access procedures.
WCMC/NYPH patrons
WCMC/NYPH employees will use the gate's "touch" function by touching their current ID cards to the front pad of the gate when entering and exiting the library. Please have your ID card with you at all times. If you do not, your status must be verified and you will be required to sign in before entering.
Alumni/HPA and sponsored patrons
Please come to the library's SMARTDesk, where you will be issued an access card that will allow you to enter and exit through the library gates using the gate's "dip" function.
Patrons from our primary affiliates (i.e. MSK and RKF)
All patrons from our primary affiliates will be issued an access card. However, your library record must be up to date in your home library's module before this card can be issued. Please visit your home library and update your record there first. Then come here to get your new access card.
What about the 24/7 area?
The access policy for the 24/7 area remains the same - only WCMC medical and graduate students, PA students, and NYPH residents and fellows have access to the area during the hours when the library is closed. However, we have just extended our hours of service to better accommodate our users.
Please have your institutional ID with you at all times. If you do not have your ID with you, your status must be verified and you will be required to sign in at the desk before entering.
