8/28: MacVector Workshop in the Library

The Library Bioinformatics Service and MacVector present:

A MacVector 15.5 Workshop

Presented by

Dr Kevin Kendall, MacVector

Samuel J. Wood Library

Library Commons Area

1300 York Avenue

Monday, August 28, 12 noon – 2 p.m.

MacVector provides numerous functions for DNA and protein analysis, including sequence editing, primer design, internet database searching, protein analysis, multiple sequence alignment, phylogenetic reconstruction, coding region analysis, and agarose gel simulation.

Dr. Kevin Kendall of MacVector, Inc. will be giving a workshop for both novice and advanced users of MacVector, reviewing both basic and advanced functions. In particular, he will highlight the new functionality introduced over the last 3 years.

We recommend downloading the fully functional trial version of MacVector onto your laptop, and bringing it along for the workshop.

Please RSVP to Peter Oxley at pro2004@med.cornell.edu if you would like to come. This isn’t strictly necessary, but will ensure that there are enough resource materials.
