Microsoft 365 is a productivity cloud that brings together best-in-class Office apps with powerful cloud services. These are the applications included in the Microsoft 365 application package installation:

  • Outlook
  • Excel
  • Word
  • PowerPoint
  • OneDrive
  • OneNote
  • Teams
  • Access

A note on Project, Visio, and Macros customizations:

  • The Office 365 upgrade will remove any previous versions of the Office suite, including Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio. These two applications are not included in the base Microsoft 365 application package; you will need to request a new license and install the newest versions separately. Project and Visio users will receive a targeted notice with instructions on how to request a license and install. You can also find the details on our Microsoft 365 FAQs page
  • Macros, customizations and add-ons used today may not work with the latest version of Office. Users with macros will receive a targeted notice with information about rewriting your macros. You can also find this information on our Microsoft 365 FAQs page

A note on Microsoft 365 updates:

  • Microsoft rolls out updates to 365 applications twice a year, many of which are based on user-feebback and often result in visual changes to the apps. You can read the full list of Microsoft semi-annual release notes here
