Incident

Description

ITS is aware of an issue at Amazon web services (AWS), causing a number of disruptions to WCM applications and services.

The following are applications and services that we know are affected but it is likely that more applications are be affected:

  • Canvas

  • Panopto
  • Campus Groups
  • Examsoft

  • Qualtrics

According to News reports, the Downdetector website received 6.5 million reports that more than 1,000 sites and services across the world were offline.

Amazon posted an update that suggests we may be close to a resolution:

Oct 20 9:13 AM PDT We have taken additional mitigation steps to aid the recovery of the underlying internal subsystem responsible for monitoring the health of our network load balancers and are now seeing connectivity and API recovery for AWS services.
