Zoom AI Companion is a generative AI tool that can help you summarize meetings and ask questions to catch up on details or action items you may have missed when it is turned on in your meetings. With the AI Companion you can:
Weill Cornell Medicine has a Business Associates Agreement with Zoom and meets HIPAA compliance.
Meeting summary and Ask meeting questions are separate AI Companion features and need to be started individually. Auto-start has been disabled for privacy purposes. Only the host or co-host can start AI Companion.
Start a meeting from the Zoom desktop client.
On the in-meeting controls, click AI Companion
, then Start summary.
The meeting summary will begin to be generated, and participants will see a notification informing them that Meeting Summary is active.
Once the meeting has ended, the meeting summary will be finalized and sent out to the host shortly for viewing.
When the meeting starts, the host will need to manually start AI Companion so that it is available to in-meeting participants.
If the host does not have AI companion enabled for the current meeting, the host and any participants can request this be enabled for use.
