Library introduces LibMAPS service pilot for publishing support

Starting September 1, the Samuel J. Wood Library is launching a new service called LibMAPS to assist the WCM community with every stage of the publishing process. This service is currently in a pilot phase until November 30, with limited support as staff works to review feedback and formalize the offering.

What is LibMAPS?

LibMAPS (Library Manuscript and Publishing Support) adds formal manuscript editing to the Library’s existing suite of publishing services. LibMAPS support includes:

  • Pre-publishing support: Journal selection, Open Access publishing guidance, NIH Public Access Policy compliance planning
  • Manuscript preparation: Light and technical editing, proper AI usage and acknowledgement, author rights retention, journal and publisher policy compliance
  • Post-acceptance: NIH Public Access Policy compliance tracking, NIH and Cornell data policy compliance facilitation, article sharing

How to join the LibMAPS pilot

Submissions during the pilot will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact Drew Wright at drw2004@med.cornell.edu for inquiries about joining the pilot, and visit the Library’s website for more information about LibMAPS.
