A new community website about the Cornell Experience Modernization Initiative (CEMI) is now available: https://cemi.cornell.edu. The site is designed to help the Cornell community on all campuses learn about CEMI’s goals to unify and improve major technology systems used across all Cornell campuses.
“We have a unique opportunity to rethink how we can operate more efficiently,” said Vipin Kamath, Chief Information Officer at Weill Cornell Medicine. “With CEMI, we will modernize workflows, provide better tools, and enable smarter, data-driven decisions. I’m confident CEMI will significantly reduce barriers for our faculty, students, and staff, fostering deeper engagement with our core missions.”
Currently, the site includes helpful information outlining the origin and purpose of CEMI, participants, and project timeline.
The initial CEMI assessment will focus on systems used to support the university’s work in advancement, budget, finance, human resources, research, and student services. As a first step, Huron Consulting is working with Cornell staff to gather information from key stakeholders who can provide insight about their experiences using these systems.
To participate, Weill Cornell Medicine community members in New York and Qatar can contact John Chalet or Stephen Wall; community members in Ithaca and Cornell Tech should contact Devaki Ginde.
