Last week, ITS took measures to secure WCM’s systems and information in response to a cyberattack on one of our vendors, Stryker. Both NYP IT and ITS blocked all network traffic with Stryker and their associated domains after the attack wiped the company’s managed assets and created a major outage in their global operations.
After substantial review, ITS, in conjunction with our colleagues at NYP and Columbia, have made the decision to reopen our network to Stryker on Friday, March 20. However, because Stryker’s email system was impacted, we urge WCM faculty and staff to have all communications with Stryker via voice using a known contact number. Please only use email with Stryker staff if a voice call option is not available.
Should you receive any suspicious emails or calls attempting to gain access to sensitive data, please contact
its-security@med.cornell.edu as soon as possible.
