Update your Apple devices to install security patches

Apple has released security patches to address critical vulnerabilities for multiple devices across its operating systems. ITS will deploy these security updates to your tagged Apple computer today. You will see a Software Update pop-up notifying you that the computer needs to be restarted for the update to install. Be sure to save your work before you restart.

You must restart your Apple computer by Friday, July 28 at 12 noon for these updates to take effect. Devices not restarted by this time will undergo a forced system reboot.

If you have an Apple device for personal use, please update your device as soon as possible to the most up-to-date versions:

  • macOS Ventura 13.5
  • macOS Monterey 12.6.8
  • macOS Big Sur 11.7.9
  • iOS 16.6 and iPadOS 16.6
  • iOS 15.7.8 and iPadOS 15.7.8
  • Safari 16.6
  • tvOS 16.6
  • watchOS 9.6

How do I update my device?

How long does the installation take?
