New Pegasus spyware affecting Apple iOS devices

Apple recently released information on spyware known as Pegasus, which can invisibly infect iOS devices, allowing unauthorized users to exploit your data. This affects iPhones and iPads. While we are aware that Apple plans to announce the release of iOS 15, we recommend updating your devices to version 14.8 as soon as possible to install the latest security patches.

Affected devices

This security flaw affects the following Apple devices:

  • iPhone 6s and later
  • iPad Pro (all models)
  • iPad Air 2 and later
  • iPad 5th generation and later
  • iPad mini 4 and later

What do you need to do?

How to update your iPhone or iPad:

  • Go to Settings > General > Software Update
  • You should see an update for iOS 14.8. Tap Download and Install to begin the process.

Note: It’s always a good idea to back up your device before upgrading your operating system, as well as plugging in your device to ensure you have enough battery during the installation process.

More detailed instructions on upgrading iOS are available on Apple’s website
