Apple has released its newest operating system, macOS Tahoe.
ITS supports this new OS, and has verified that all supported applications are compatible.
Should I upgrade to macOS Tahoe?
If you use any applications not provided by ITS that are critical to getting your work done, ensure they are compatible with macOS Tahoe before you upgrade. You may need to look at the application’s website or contact their customer support team.
Tips for a smooth upgrade
Before you perform any OS upgrade, take these basic steps to protect your data and ensure that the upgrade runs smoothly:
- Back up your computer. ITS recommends you back up to OneDrive to ensure none of your data is lost in the process of upgrading.
Microsoft OneDrive lets you store up to 5TB, share, and collaborate with WCM colleagues on files in the cloud. OneDrive is the preferred method for storing WCM high-risk data, like PHI and PII.

- Do you have enough disk storage space? macOS Tahoe requires 25GB of free disk space to install. How to see used and available storage on your Mac
- Before upgrading, save all your work and close all applications.
