If you find yourself spending the month of August in the city while colleagues soak up the sun, don’t get mad, get good at Adobe! ITS is excited to kick-off our 2nd Annual Awesome Adobe August. For the entire month of August, we’ll devote each Tech Tuesday to an exciting Adobe application, like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere. Come get an intro to an app you’ve been eager to try, or learn a couple new tips and tricks to up your Adobe game.
Adobe Creative Cloud puts world-class applications at your fingertips that help you enhance photos, create beautiful flyers and brochures, edit video files, develop web pages, and much more. Mastering even a few basic functions in a given app can add serious polish and creativity to your projects.
We’ll also cover how to request a license to Adobe Creative Cloud. ITS offers licensing for the Adobe Creative Cloud suite to WCM faculty and staff at no additional cost to users with a legitimate business need. Unfortunately, Adobe still won't allow us to provide their software to students, though students can use it for free on library computers or purchase a copy at a discounted price (see next section). We continue to work with Adobe on this issue.
Getting Adobe Creative Cloud
If you’d like to submit a request and download CC apps prior to Adobe August, visit the Adobe Creative Cloud service page and fill out the form. Students or other users who would like a personal subscription to Creative Cloud should visit weillcornell.onthehub.com to purchase a monthly or yearly subscription with significant savings. Free additional training on all of these products is available through Lynda.com or Skillsoft.
