ITS has just launched its latest “Spring Street” release of i2b2, which now includes Epic data through mid-December 2015. Additionally, Social History (including alcohol, tobacco and drug usage, and sexual health) is now available under the “History” section
Other data available through i2b2 includes:
- Demographics
- Encounters
- Vital signs
- Diagnoses (ICD-9)
- Procedures (CPT)
- Medications
What is i2b2?
Informatics for Integrating Biology and the Bedside (i2b2) enables researchers to query de-identified data from electronic health record (EHR) and research systems of Weill Cornell Medical College to discover cohorts of patients preparatory to research. With approval from the Institutional Review Board (IRB), investigators can obtain identified data, including medical record numbers, for patients of interest.
Regular releases of i2b2 are named after stops on the 6 train, the most heavily-used line in New York City.
How do I learn more about i2b2?
Please join us every Thursday for the CTSC ARCH Workshop in the Samuel J. Wood Library Collaboration Room from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. During the workshop, ask experts about i2b2, REDCap, SUPER REDCap, EHR reporting, and additional approaches for obtaining electronic data for research.
