Regarding wireless connectivity in Olin and Lasdon Halls

ITS has received reports from several students regarding intermittent wireless connectivity and poor reception within the Olin and Lasdon Hall buildings. As a result, we have accelerated our project to improve wireless services in these areas. Additional wireless access points will be installed in and around the dorms rooms between February and May of 2014. More access points will increase the coverage and speed of the wireless network in Olin and Lasdon Halls.

Resolving this matter is a top priority, and we appreciate your patience as we work to address this issue and improve performance and functionality. More information on this wireless service enhancement will be available as we initiate the project.

What do you need to do?
In the meantime, please follow these steps if you continue to experience issues:


  • If you are disconnected from the WMC Secure wireless network, a prompt will appear asking you to re-authenticate. Please use your WCMC credentials to log back in.

  • If you are using a Windows laptop, you can bring your device to the SMARTDesk inside the Wood Library. Our technicians may be able to update your wireless card drivers, which can improve connectivity with our wireless network.

  • If you still have issues connecting to the wireless network, please contact our Service Desk.
