Security Alert: New spam message being sent to WCMC users

ITS has been notified of a malicious email that users at Weill Cornell may have received in their inboxes. Links have been removed from the message below and the text appears as it was originally written so that users can more easily identify the malicious email and delete it.

From: Cornell University
Date: Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 8:16 AM
Subject: Attention Cornell University Email User

Attention Cornell University Email user,

This is to inform you that your mail quota has exceeded the authorized
limit. You are currently running in 56GB in our database and your email
is being shut down as soon as possible.
To Correct this error, your account will be refreshed in the Cornell
University database and you are hereby requested to verify the Following
to avoid loss of Email account.

Your full name:
Date of birth:
Gender:
Password:
City:

Failure to abide by this order, will lead to a permanent deactivation of
your email account from our Cornell University database.
Your email will REMAIN active after you have successfully confirmed your
details above.
