On Tuesday, December 17th from 9pm-10pm ITS will be integrating Duo authentication in myAccount(https://identity.weill.cornell.edu ), the site where you manage your identity at Weill Cornell Medicine. After this change, if you use the Change Password or Forget Password function in myAccount you will receive a Duo prompt as part of the process of resetting it.
After 12/17 you will see a Duo prompt when you use the Change Password or Forget Password function in myAccount.
What do you have to do?
- Enroll in Duo today. This ensures that you will be able to use the Change Password or Forget Password function in myAccount. ITS is in the process of integrating Duo with all externally-facing WCM sites, so you’ll need to enroll in Duo eventually in order to access WCM sites and applications from outside the network. To enroll in Duo: go to myAccount, click Multi-Factor Authentication, enter your CWID, and follow the onscreen prompts.
2. Add your personal email address to your profile at directory.weill.cornell.edu
Why? myAccount uses a secure multiple-step process to retrieve your forgotten password. If you forget your password, just log into myAccount to retrieve it. You’ll be presented with a list of personal email addresses that are partially obscured. When you choose the correct address, you’ll receive an email to that address that includes a link that takes you back to myAccount where you can reset your password, and peruse our password guide for tips on creating a strong password.
How? Go to directory.weill.cornell.edu, log in, and select Edit Profile. From here, you can add a personal email address and publish it to Emergency Only, which means it won’t be publicly visible.
Add your personal email to your directory profile and set to Emergency Only.
