ITS would like to offer a warm welcome to all incoming students, faculty and staff! We want to help get you up and running with the tools we have available. Here are some of the basic IT services used across campus:
Online Collaboration
Box – Unlimited cloud storage and collaboration tool. Available at box.weill.cornell.edu.
Zoom – Hosting for large-scale online meetings and webinars at weillcornell.zoom.us (hosting not available for students at this time).
Skype for Business - Chat and host small online meetings with your colleagues. Download from Software Center (Windows) or Self Service (Mac) on tagged devices.
Email & Calendar
Webmail – Access your official WCM email and calendar; includes unlimited storage. Available at o365.weill.cornell.edu.
File Transfer – Files larger than 25MB are too large to attach to an email. Transfer files up to 2GB using this secure service. Available at transfer.med.cornell.edu.
Encrypted Email - Ideal for sending sensitive or confidential data to a recipient with an email address that is not a part of the WCM network. The WCM Network includes emails ending in @med.cornell.edu, @nyp.org, @mskcc.org, @rockefeller.edu, @hss.edu, and @cornell.edu. If you need to send a sensitive email outside of this network (e.g., to approved third-party vendors) just type #encrypt in the subject line of your email.
Events Calendar – Discover and publicize events of interest to the WCM community. Submit events at events.med.cornell.edu, including grand rounds, conferences, open meetings, and social gatherings. Events submitted are reviewed for appropriateness and accuracy before posting. Also available via app on iOS devices.
Learning/Education
Lynda.com – Access thousands of online video tutorials and various topics from your desktop or mobile device. Available at www.lynda.com. Log in through your organization: weill.cornell.edu.
Skillsoft – Another learning repository that includes free books and training guides. Available at wcm.skillport.com.

Adobe Acrobat Pro – View, edit, and create PDF documents
Adobe Creative Cloud (Faculty & Staff only) - Design software for graphics, video, websites, and more
EndNote - Publish and manage bibliographies, citations and references
LastPass - Generate and store secure passwords for all of your online accounts. Set up an account at lastpass.weill.cornell.edu.
Lumira (Windows only) - Input Excel data to create professional visualizations
Microsoft Office Suite - Includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook & OneNote
Survey Tools
Qualtrics - Create, launch, and manage surveys. Ideal for web-based data collection for most WCM business. Available at weillcornell.qualtrics.com.
REDCap - Many of the same functions as Qualtrics, but with enhanced support for managing identifying data about survey subjects. Ideal for research studies, particularly those that collect PII or PHI. Request service at survey.med.cornell.edu.
Other Services
VIVO - Promote your research and credentials with a polished web presence at vivo.weill.cornell.edu.
Smartphone tagging (Faculty & Staff only) - Tag your device at the SMARTDesk to access WCM Wi-Fi, email & approved apps.
Wiki - Allows instant publishing of content to the web using only a web browser at nexus.weill.cornell.edu. Individual Wiki sections called “spaces” are provided to collaborate on documents, projects, and work as needed. Request a space at its.weill.cornell.edu.
eFax - Free to send faxes (not receive) via desktop. Request via myits.med.cornell.edu.
