The Weill Research Gateway (WRG) is now available for use by faculty and staff at the college. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of Weill Cornell’s research administrative offices and ITS, WRG will soon host a number of applications that support research in one convenient online portal.
The new Conflicts of Interest Survey
The first application to move to WRG is the Conflicts Management System (CMS). The CMS allows employees to input within the Conflicts Survey any external financial interests, activities, or commitments that are not part of their primary commitments to Weill Cornell (e.g., stock in a pharmaceutical company). The Conflicts Management Office reviews these surveys to determine whether an employee has conflicts that may compromise their ability to carry out their primary obligations to Weill Cornell Medicine.
Using the COI Survey
Employees will be required to submit financial conflicts every year. For the launch, all employees are requested to submit their COI survey by December 31, 2015. Most employees will only have to submit the survey once a year as they typically do not have relationships that could impact research being conducted at Weill Cornell.
Additionally, all employees are required to update their COI survey any time they develop a new financial relationship related to their responsibilities at Weill Cornell. These new relationships must be reported in WRG within 30 days of their occurrence.
