In the next few weeks, ITS will be changing the way you manage spam. Effective August 6, spam management will transition from Proofpoint (antispam.weill.cornell.edu) to your Microsoft Outlook account.
How will it work?
In lieu of going to a separate website, you will soon be able to manage your spam emails directly from your Outlook Junk Folder. You’ll be able to allow and block senders directly from your Outlook client to ensure you’re receiving the messages you want, and unwanted messages are delivered directly to your Junk folder.
Here’s a preview of how spam management will work in Outlook:
- Spam Management in Outlook for the Web (O365)
- Spam Management in Outlook for Windows 11
- Spam Management in Outlook for Mac OS
- Spam Management in Outlook for Android
- Spam Management in Outlook for iOS
- Spam Management in Outlook for Windows 10
What happens to my old Proofpoint (antispam.weill) account?
ITS will officially retire Proofpoint (antispam.weill.cornell.edu) on August 20. We highly recommend managing approved and blocked senders in Outlook once it becomes available.
If you created approved or blocked senders lists in Proofpoint (antispam.weill.cornell.edu), they will not copy over to Outlook automatically, and you will need to manually add those email addresses to Outlook before August 20.
