ITS has received several inquiries about the use of WCM Zoom accounts by the WCM community for personal events during the upcoming holidays.
As a rule, use of university electronic resources for non-business functions is discouraged. To help keep our workforce safe and healthy, and in light of recent CDC recommendations, we are amending our guidance for Zoom usage as follows:
WCM faculty, staff, and students looking to host a personal holiday event without an active WCM Zoom account should create a free Zoom account. Zoom has announced that the usual meeting limits on free accounts will not apply during Thanksgiving.
Those who already have an active Zoom account from WCM should feel free to use it for their personal holiday events (within the existing limits of the service).
