Duped by free pumpkin spice? Take our quiz to redeem yourself!

It’s October, which means it’s your favorite time of year. It’s National Cybersecurity Awareness Month!

Were you thinking it’s the season of pumpkin spice instead? Then you may have gotten overexcited about this phishing test we sent last week – so excited that you may have clicked on it?

While this was just a test, WCM faculty, staff, and students receive these kinds of tempting emails every day. That’s why we spend the month of October educating the WCM community about how to protect your identity and data. Every week this month, we’ll be sending you helpful tips about how to protect your personal information (like identifying spam), so keep an eye out!

Redeem yourself with our cybersecurity quiz and be eligible for a prize!

We’re kicking off this year’s Cybersecurity Month with a brand new quiz. If you’re one of our top scores, you could be eligible for a prize! The deadline to take the quiz is Oct. 21, with winners being contacted by Oct. 28.

Take the quiz now!

Why was that pumpkin spice email spam?

Thankfully, many of you realized this was a phishing attempt, with only 11% of the WCM community clicking the link. However, only 12% reported the email, and we'd like for more people to contact our Security team in the event they suspect a phishing attempt.

Here are some hints that the email you received was spam:
