On Nov. 15, ITS will be reducing the amount of time sent files will be stored in your File Transfer Service account (transfer.med.cornell.edu). Any files sent to external users through File Transfer will now be stored in your account for only 14 days, after which the file will be automatically deleted. Senders and recipients will not be able to access any files that are older than 14 days. This is being implemented to free up service resources and improve the system’s efficiency.
How will this affect you?
File Transfer is used to send files in a secure environment to external users, like vendors. If an external user has not opened your message within 14 days, you will need to upload your file again and resend the message, as it will no longer remain in your Sent folder for 45 days.
