Update (11/12, 4:00 PM):
The network maintenance planned for the evening of November 11th was completed successfully. However, the maintenance did not fully resolve the issue that caused the original network outage within our BRB datacenter. This issue continues to trigger sporadic issues while using myApps for non-Epic applications.
ITS engineers are currently awaiting on new network equipment from our vendors to complete a replacement of the impacted hardware. We expect this change to take place on Saturday, November 14th from 6PM to 8PM.
To avoid the sporadic issues impacting myApps, ITS recommends users connect to applications directly where possible. Many enterprise applications available through myApps can now be accessed directly in the browser and do not require a VPN connection, including:
- Weill Business Gateway can be accessed directly at wbg.weill.cornell.edu. Only Mac users needing access to BI reports should access WBG over myApps at this time.
- Weill Research Gateway can be accessed directly at wrg.weill.cornell.edu. As of the evening of November 12th, WRG is no longer available over myApps.
- Canvas can be accessed directly at courses.med.cornell.edu.

To resolve an issue identified during this morning’s network outage, we are scheduling emergency network maintenance tonight, Nov. 11, from 8 p.m. - 11 p.m.
How will this affect you?
The maintenance will impact network routing within our BRB datacenter. While we do not anticipate user impact due to network redundancies, short disruptions to institutional applications and systems may occur.
There is no impact to internet connectivity on campus during this maintenance window.
What do you need to do?
If you are connected to a departmental file share, we recommend saving all your open files before 8 p.m. tonight.
