Description
Last week, ITS notified you of a critical security update requiring a reboot of Windows PCs along with anticipated maintenance windows in the coming weeks. This week, both Microsoft and Apple released critical security updates that will again require a reboot of your computers. In addition, EpicTogether will be conducting maintenance affecting WCM access to myApps and Epic.
To mitigate disruption, these reboots have been consolidated so that affected devices will only have to be restarted once, and will occur during off hours at approximately 12 midnight on Saturday, Sept. 18.
Please save your work and leave your tagged Windows and Macs* online and connected to the network Friday night to ensure your computers receive the necessary system updates and reboot.
Additional details about these updates
System maintenance for myApps will begin at 11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17. If you are already logged into Epic, OnBase, Natus, BreezeSuite, or the OB sono system during the maintenance, nothing will happen and you will be able to continue your work until 12 midnight on Saturday. Accessing these applications during the maintenance period, or logging out of myApps and attempting to log back in, will result in an error message and you will need to restart your computer to access the systems.
If your computer is off over the weekend, turning your computer back on will trigger the updates and may require a reboot.
*Apple is requiring Big Sur users to accept a restart notification on their computers to update their operating system.
If you wish to update your operating system prior to our weekend maintenance, Mac users can download the security patch from Apple now (go to System Preferences > Software Updates > Update Now).
