All WCM faculty, staff, and students using tagged devices are responsible for backing up files and data locally stored on their machines. ITS does not back up data stored on users’ local drives. Should the data stored on your device become lost or corrupted, ITS cannot recover your information.
ITS faculty, staff, and students have unlimited storage accounts with Box. We highly recommend storing any files or folders in Box which do not contain any HIPAA or PHI-related data.
Box is accessible with your CWID and password at box.weill.cornell.edu. Once you are in Box, you can upload your files and folders from your computer.
You can also download and use the Box Sync application to mirror the data on your desktop and store it in your Box account.
ITS highly recommends regularly backing up the data on your machine. View the resources below to help you save your files:

If you have lost data on your machine, ITS will not be able to recover it. However, we can recommend data recovery services. Note that these are third-party vendors who will require a fee.
