Our 5th Annual SMARTFest on February 1 welcomed approximately 1,150 attendees, making it our largest and most successful SMARTFest since its inception. The event, held in the Samuel J. Wood Library, promotes emerging tech and helpful services for WCM faculty, staff, and students.

Aside from the usual trade-show style format in which attendees could walk up to the experts and ask about services, we had several new features this year:

ITS offers a special Research Lab website service for researchers looking for a polished, professional online presence.

Many faculty research labs build websites to showcase their work, frequently using third party platforms like Wix or Squarespace. This led to sites that were not properly branded, didn’t follow institutional best practices, and that didn’t integrate well with institutional systems.

Lenovo has issued a recall notice for ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5th Gen Laptops manufactured between December 2016 and October 2017. Lenovo has determined that a limited number of such laptops may have an unfastened screw that could damage the laptop’s battery causing overheating, potentially posing a fire hazard.

I have a CWID and password. Why can’t I access Weill Research Gateway (WRG)?

You are most likely receiving an error when attempting to access Weill Research Gateway because the system does not yet have a profile for you.

New WCM Employees

If you are a new WCM employee, in most cases, access should be provisioned within one to two days of completing your onboarding paperwork with Human Resources.

New or Existing WCM Non-Employees

If you are a WCM non-employee and require access to WRG modules, please contact WRG Support at wrg-support@med.cornell.edu or 212-746-4878 (menu option 2, then option 1), with the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your login information (CWID)
  • Your affiliation (e.g., WCM, NYP, etc.)
  • Your contact information (e.g. phone number and email address)
