The Cornell University community is encouraged to be on high alert for suspicious emails, calls, and in-person contacts purporting to be a vendor working on the widespread Windows outage related to a CrowdStrike bug.

Why haven’t you hosted a session about [insert application name] yet?

We would love to host as many sessions covering as wide a range of applications as possible! Some reasons we may not have covered a topic yet are:

  • The application or service is not supported by ITS, or we offer a supported alternative
  • The application may be too complex to demonstrate in a 45-minute window
  • We do not currently have a facilitator who can demonstrate the application

However, with technology needs changing all the time, we encourage you to submit your ideas for topics. We may be able to present it at a later date, or find a suitable alternative to demonstrate.

Are the services mentioned in Tech Tuesdays free to access?

Yes, most applications and services featured during Tech Tuesdays are free to WCM users. One of the goals of Tech Tuesdays is to ensure we focus on services that are widely accessible to faculty, staff, and students. However, some of the applications we feature may include a nominal fee. This is always discussed during the session, and if there is a free alternative, we will also mention it. Overall, the featured services are selected based on attendee feedback and the benefits our staff feel an application would bring to the WCM community.

Are there other resources I can use to learn more about ITS-supported services?

Yes! We highly recommend accessing your free LinkedIn Learning and Skillsoft accounts for on-demand courses.

Do you offer one-on-one training sessions for any of the topics covered during Tech Tuesdays?

Opportunities for one-on-one trainings vary by topic and the availability of a given facilitator to meet outside of Tech Tuesday. However, you can try reaching out to the facilitator, who is usually copied on follow-up emails, or contact the ITS Communications team, who can put you in touch with the right person.

I’m interested in attending a Tech Tuesday session, but I have a conflict. What should I do?

Even if you can’t attend a session, we highly recommend that you register so you can receive follow-up information, like the session recording and help guide links.

I have an idea for a Tech Tuesday topic. How can I share it with ITS?

We’d love to hear your ideas! Please submit your feedback using this form
