Weill Cornell Medical College is in the process of changing the addresses for several of our main websites over the next few days at the request of the Dean's Office. The new web site addresses are as follows:

All WCMC (NYC & Qatar) staff who have received Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) training will be able to enter and approve shopping carts and purchase orders on Monday, January 5, 2009 at the times listed below.

Please see details below on how to access the system and how to get support should you have any questions.

Please note that ITS (NYC) has set up a coaching lab at 1300 York Avenue, Room LC-06 for walk-in support to provide hands-on assistance should you require additional support. No appointments are necessary to use the coaching lab.

The culmination of two years of work, WBG represents a significant advance for financial and human resource administration for our campuses in NYC and in Qatar.

Google has announced that its new web browser, Chrome, is available for Windows as a beta release. Beta software is by definition unfinished, which can cause instability, crashes, or data loss.

To: All ITS Supported Microsoft Windows Users

The WCMC user community has recently seen an influx of e-mails pretending to be legitimate online services. These e-mails contain a links to websites then when clicked download a virus onto your computer. Please delete these messages immediately and do not click on the link.

ITS has tested and certified Oracle Calendar 10.1 for Windows. It is now available for immediate download. The newest version allows you to download and backup calendar entries.

July 15, 2008

Mozilla has announced that Firefox 3 for Windows and Mac is available.

The software will be tested and certified sometime after August 15th. As such, ITS recommends WCMC faculty, staff, and students not to download Firefox 3. The browser has not been certified for ITS' desktop environment; consequently, you may encounter technical issues.

This notification is intended for users of laptops running Windows XP or Windows 2000 that connect to the WCMC wireless network using the Odyssey wireless network client. This will not affect Mac users.

March 14, 2008

Effective March 14th 2008, ITS is providing limited qualification of Leopard for use within Weill Cornell Medical College. In short, this allows newly purchased machines with Leopard to be tagged and connected to the network, as well as allow for existing machines to be upgraded upgraded under our Apple Maintenance Program agreement. However, ITS will only be providing limited support for users opting to upgrade or run Leopard, as there are known unresolved issues.

The Information Technologies & Services Department (ITS) is pleased to announce a new service called Technology Education And Computer Help (TEACH).

TEACH is a training program offering Weill Cornell employees the opportunity to develop their computer skills. The courses offered through this program are based on the applications and services provided by ITS. Through the TEACH program, ITS hopes to better understand the training needs of the WCMC community and support the success of the Medical College.
