As the old saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, especially when it helps you resolve an IT issue! Now, when you open an incident in myHelpdesk (myhelpdesk.med.cornell.edu), you have the option to attach a file to your ticket that our service technicians will be able to view.
Fully qualified domain names can be used, but with two conditions:
With limited exceptions, the canonical/primary domain name for your website must be an institutional domain name, of the format unit.weill.cornell.edu or unit.weillcornell.org.
The fully qualified domain name must be transferred to ITS for technical management
ITS supports the entire community of Weill Cornell -- from students and staff members to researchers and visitors. Make sure you're set up and secure by reading our guides below. They explain things to do, services to explore, and the policies you should know.
The Information Technologies & Services department (ITS) provides comprehensive IT infrastructure, management, service, and support for the Weill Cornell Medicine community. With its wide range of expertise in new and emerging technologies, ITS plays a vital role in advancing the institution’s mission in educational technologies, biomedical research, and patient care.
This page provides a listing of all WCM IT policies. Please note that WCM adheres to many IT policies disseminated by Cornell University. WCM IT policies are Weill Cornell-specific supplements to University policy, and in some cases may be more stringent than those used at the University. WCM faculty, staff, students, and affiliates are expected to be aware of and comply with these policies. Please check this page frequently for changes, updates, and new policy postings.
The ITS Security team is responsible for maintaining a secure computing environment for Weill Cornell.
ITS uses proactive and reactive technologies and best-practice processes to ensure a safe and secure computing environment for all faculty, staff, students, and guests of WCMC. Security and privacy compliance training provides instruction on how departments can best meet the requirements of state and/or federal regulations (e.g. HIPAA) that have an IT component to the regulation.
