The property management group that oversees Weill Cornell's 575 Lexington Avenue location has announced that it will be coordinating an electrical shutdown with Con Ed on Friday, February 28. All electrical power at 575 Lexington will be disconnected Friday evening.

In preparation, ITS will begin powering down its data center in the building at 6 p.m. on February 28. ITS will restore services on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.

ITS has officially launched our VIVO Public Beta, Weill Cornell's online search tool that connects researchers and faculty across disciplines. As previously announced, VIVO includes your publications, teaching, service, federal grants and other information regarding your work. VIVO will eventually replace our current Research Profile System (RPS) and offer users a central location to retrieve information about all researchers and faculty, including postdoctoral associates and fellows.

What can I do in VIVO?

On Friday, January 31, ITS will launch its VIVO Public Beta service to the WCMC community. Funded by the NIH and developed at Cornell University, VIVO offers researchers a polished web presence full of information about you and your work. Having accurate information about you and your work allows you to attract funders and collaboration opportunities, and receive proper credit for your activities.

Please be informed that your Email account on file has been listed for suspension and will be disabled shortly if not Activated Now. Errors were discovered in your account. For security reasons, you are required to secure and please click here to Upgrade your mailbox and its quota size.

The ITS Service Desk will be closed on Monday, January 20 in observance of Martin Luther King Day. This includes both phone support and walk-in service at the SMARTDesk in the Wood Library.

If you require assistance after hours, please email support@med.cornell.edu and one of our technicians will respond as soon as possible.

We will resume our normal hours of operation on Tuesday, January 21.

The ITS Service Desk will operate with a holiday schedule during the weeks of Christmas and New Year's. Our hours of operation will be as follows:

Tuesday, December 24 (Christmas Eve)
Phone support: 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
SMARTDesk in the Wood Library: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Wednesday, December 25 (Christmas Day)
Phone support and walk-in service at the SMARTDesk will be unavailable.

Tuesday, December 31 (New Year's Eve)
Phone support: 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.

As a result of ongoing organizational changes, Web Maintenance services for NYP websites will be transitioning to a new vendor. ITS Web Communications will no longer be providing these services for hospital web sites beginning January 1, 2014.

How will this affect you?
On Friday, December 20 at 5 p.m., the existing NYP Web Maintenance service will be closed to new tickets. Users will still be able to log into the system and review or comment on existing requests. All open tickets should have the work completed by Tuesday, December 31.

It is our pleasure to announce the appointment of Krishna Sankhavaram as the new ITS Director of Research Administrative Computing. Krishna comes to Weill Cornell from MD Anderson where he was the Director of Research Information Systems and Technology Development since 2005. While there, he was responsible for a full suite of administrative systems, as well as the development of a high performance computing facility supporting computationally intensive research.

Due to upcoming construction in the Selma Ruben Conference Center (WGC 2), meetings scheduled in this location will be moved to the Belfer Research Building (BRB) on 69th Street beginning February 1, 2014.

How will this affect you?
Meetings previously scheduled in the Selma Ruben Conference Center will be relocated to a comparable room in the BRB Conference Center on the second and third floors until construction is complete (slated for December 2014). WGC 2 cannot be reserved while there is construction.
